A great site for news and commentary on the publishing business is www.Mobylives.com. MobyLives is a weekly column about books and writers that appears in newspapers as well as on- line. In addition to highlighting the week in fiction, poetry and audio, the site offers a list of "Recently Under-appreciated" books.
Are you interested in posting a resume and finding a job, or just looking for something to do tonight? www.mediabistro.com connects media professionals to new opportunities and to each other. The site offers top news and entertainment stories, job listings, chat rooms, media seminars, and industry parties and special events.
If you want to improve your cinema appreciation and knowledge, then check out www.imdb.com for information on every movie ever made. The site offers movie and TV news, message boards, games, and current US movie show times. Or, go to www.apple.com/trailers to see the latest movie trailers.
BOOKINGS OF NOTE
Planned Television Arts is proud to announce the celebration of our 40th anniversary. Founded on February 1, 1962, Planned Television Arts has grown into the leader in the book publicity industry, touring more authors than any other agency. Forever improving and expanding, we now have independent offices in Washington, DC, Los Angeles, Chicago, and Toronto.
PTA has always been considered an innovative leader in the industry, creating the Morning Drive Radio Tour in 1990 and being the pacesetter in developing Satellite Television Tours. In addition, PTA has developed specialty boutiques including PTA Faith; PTA Espanol; and PTA Body Mind and Spirit, which respectively handle spiritual authors; latino accounts, and human potential books.
Although known currently for our publishing campaigns, some of PTA's earliest accounts were corporate/consumer campaigns, including the first for the New York Lotto, Planned Parenthood and many pharmaceutical companies. Today, our corporate accounts find us working with organizations such as The Brookings Institute, National Geographic Society, and many websites, including AskDrWeil.com.
With a current staff of 40+ publicists and account executives, we look forward to another successful 40 years of business. Here's a sampling of our latest bookings:
