PTA SPEAKERS BUREAU

Increasing Visibility and Sales with the PTA Speakers Tour

Many PTA clients, particularly those in the business and financial fields, have something to say. And they aren't afraid to say it in front of a live audience. The PTA Speakers Tour found that planning author tours around speaking engagements makes great sense. Not only can you go into a city for traditional media, you can make personal contact with people who may be interested in more than your book.

PTA has had great success setting up speaking engagements with chambers of commerce and professional organizations across the country. This results in a larger and more targeted audience than those at bookstore signings. It's a great way to sell books and make business contacts. Authors from motivational guru Harvey Mackay to futurist Rolf Jensen of Denmark to marketing consultant Max Carey have benefited from this strategy.

To find out more about the PTA Speakers Tour contact David Hahn at 212/583-5847 or e-mail hahnd@ruderfinn.com.

Financial Stars Shine with PTA

Over the years PTA has worked with some of the top investment and personal finance experts around. The patented Morning Drive Radio Tour has been a key vehicle for Suze Orman, among others. David Dreman of Kemper-Dreman, Bill Sterling and Stephen Waite of Credit Suisse/BEA and Bambi Holzer of PaineWebber have had successful National campaigns.

If you are a finance or investment author and are wondering how to get your message out contact David Hahn at 212/583-5847 or e-mail hahnd@ruderfinn.com.

DID YOU KNOW...

Founded four years ago, Salon.com is a literary web site that provides more than book reviews. It's a terrific source of information on a myriad of topics. According to the editor, the sophisticated, varied topics are intended to give the feel of the conversations that might take place at really great dinner parties. The content is updated daily and breaking news is posted on the home page. Columnists have included Camille Paglia, Garrison Keillor and Anne Lamott. Recently, Michael Sragow discussed the new movie "Fight Club" with the director, novelist and actor Edward Norton. Want to put in your two cents? Readers can offer their takes at "Table Talk," their popular discussion site. Salon.com shines a bright light on the books and the publishing industry. One day's offerings included an article questioning the relevance of The New York Times Best-Seller List; a rundown of the book party for Simon & Schuster's relaunch of the Eloise series; and an invitation to join an on-line discussion of Ken Kesey's latest, "Sometimes a Great Notion." Check it out: www.salon.com

QUOTE OF THE MONTH

"I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman, "Where's the self-help section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose."
