Pushing the Envelope King Once Again

After successfully promoting Harvey Mackay's last book, Dig Your Well Before You're Thirsty, PTA was hired again to promote his new book, Pushing the Envelope: All the Way to the Top (Ballantine).

For Harvey's new book PTA employed a strategy of arranging speaking engagements in as many venues as possible during a 35-city tour as well as booking traditional media. Working with local business journals, chambers of commerce, business bookstores, sales associations and business school alumni clubs, PTA found many happy sponsors eager to have Harvey come and speak. Audiences often numbered 300 people or more with a good percentage of those people buying books. In many cases, people bought the book as part of an overall admission price. All sales were processed through local Barnes & Noble bookstores, Borders or major independents.

Top national media placements included features in the New York Times, AP and USA Today along with interviews on CNBC, CNN, CNN-fn and Bloomberg. Other major print placements included reviews and features with American Way; INC., Success Magazine, the Rotarian and syndicated writers such as Jeffrey Gitomer; Jim Pawlak, Joyce Lain Kennedy, Dave Murphy and Michael Kinsman.

PTA also conducted a "Spend a Day with Harvey Mackay" contest with ten American Airlines' Admirals Clubs at six different airports around the country.

To date the book has appeared on the best-seller lists of the New York Times, Business Week, and the Wall Street Journal, as well as many regional lists, including the Dallas Morning News, Boston Globe and Denver Post

PTA at CBA

PTA Faith is going to Disney World...well not exactly. We will actually be attending the 50th annual Christian Booksellers Association Convention to be held this year in sunny Orlando, July 12th through the 15th. This "boutique" division of PTA represents such clients as Thomas Nelson, Baker Book House and Broadman & Holman.

At this year's show PTA will be representing best selling authors Dale Evans Rogers (Rainbow on a Hard Trail), John Maxwell, and Kevin Leman (Sex Begins in the Kitchen). PTA helped to place Maxwell's last book, 21 Irrefutable Laws of Leadership, on the New York Times and Wall Street Journal Business best-sellers lists.
