Amy Hess
Director, PTA Kids

Amy Hess is the founder of the PTA Kids practice group, which promotes children's books, authors and organizations nationwide. As Director, Amy manages and implements public relations and media relations campaigns. Clients include major publishing houses such as Simon & Schuster, Disney, Scholastic, Harper Collins, Harcourt, Farrar Strauss & Giroux, Tommy Nelson, Candlewick Press, Workman and Shadow Mountain. She has worked with non-profit organizations including Adoption Is Love, Child Welfare League of America, Child Help USA, CARE, and Big Brothers Big Sisters of America.

As a publicist, Amy works with every major media outlet in the country and has booked interviews with ABC World News Tonight, Fox News Channel, CNN, 20/20, CBS's The Early Show, Nightline, CBS Evening News, Good Morning America, and has coordinated placements in the The Los Angeles Times, The New York Times, The Washington Post and in addition to placements with almost every daily newspaper.

Amy's background also includes working with children as a preschool teacher, elementary school volunteer, tutor and camp counselor.. She has volunteered at the Museum of Natural History's where she educated children on exhibits and has also worked with the non-profit organization For Love of Children. Her education includes many years of child psychology and child development courses.

She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Journalism from The Ohio University in Athens, Ohio. The EW Scripps School of Journalism is consistently ranked as one of the top 5 journalism programs in the country. Amy enjoys yoga, painting, writing, travel, being with friends, and spending time with her husband, Mark.
