Television FAQ

  • What exactly is a Satellite Media Tour?

It allows you to be interviewed by a number of television stations throughout the country without you traveling any further than our television studio in New York City or an alternate location.

    top

  • How many interviews will there be?

We seek to schedule 18-20 interviews.

    top

  • All in one day?

Yes, from approximately 6:30-9:30am, you will be interviewed by all of these stations.

    top

  • How long is each interview?

Interviews are booked in 5-minute "windows," allowing for a maximum total of 22 interviews. The typical interview lasts from 3-5 minutes.

    top

  • How is this done in one day?

You are in our television studio in New York City. We beam your picture via satellite to each station conducting an interview. You will be wearing an earpiece allowing you to hear the news anchors interviewing you.

They will be seeing and hearing you.
You will only be hearing the people interviewing you.
(Think of interviews you see being done "via satellite" on programs like "Larry King Live" or "Nightline".)

    top

  • Who will be interviewing me?

Programs booked are usually the early morning newscasts that air prior to programs like "Good Morning America" and "Today." The majority of interviews will be LIVE. Before each interview, we will tell you:

    - the name of the interviewer
    - the city and station name
    - if the interview is live or taped
    - the length of each interview

    top

  • What will they be asking me?

We provide each station with a list of suggested interview questions. 90% of each interview will be those questions, re-stated in the same order, interview after interview. Stations will also be provided with press material (and any books or products relevant to the tour).

    top

  • Will there be any breaks in the schedule?

We strategically set up breaks throughout the schedule.

    top

  • How many people will see this?

Between one and a half and three million people, on average, watch our television tours.

    top

  • When will I see a schedule of interviews?

We will send you updates on a timely basis, and give you a final schedule the day before the tour.

    top

  • Are all of the interviews on the schedule guaranteed to happen?

No. Due to breaking news or technical difficulties, there may be cancellations. But we tape a "generic" interview with you that we will send to those stations and any other stations that want to see the information you provide, but are unable to participate on the day of the tour.

    top

  • What time do I need to get to the studio?

    Approximately 5:45am EST.

    top

  • Do you provide: Hair? Makeup? Catering? - for the morning of the event.

We provide makeup and catering, but cannot offer hairstyling.

"Thank you for your excellent work promoting our book, Vital Factors - The Secret To Transforming Your Business and Your Life. As you are aware, Vital Factors was our first book and we were novices at the fundamentals of promoting a business book. Our decision to work with your firm was based upon your extensive experience promoting business books and we are not disappointed. I sincerely appreciated your consistent coaching and advice as we executed the book campaign. This spirit of teamwork and collaboration made a difference. We learned a great deal about promoting a book and we can also apply many of these principles to future PR efforts. Your weekly updates kept our eye on the ball as we moved the campaign forward. I will continue to recommend you and your firm to business associates who want to gain national exposure for their books."
